Pole Position Logistics is looking for a Guide / Ground Coordinator for season 2026.

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic colleague who will assist Pole Position Logistics with passenger related services for the expedition cruise vessels, yachts, research and cargo vessels that are sailing in Svalbard waters.

Pole Position Logistics was founded in 2005 and is located in Longyearbyen. Over 20 years we have been assisting our partners and clients with logistical challenges in the Arctic. The company has grown into a logistic service provider in the broad spectrum of shipping, freight forwarding and local distributions. Pole Position coordinates the largest part of all ship calls in the ports of Longyearbyen, Ny-Ålesund and Jan Mayen.

Pole Position Logistics is a close-knit team where we believe that a smiling face and helping each other out are the key to success. During the season, more than 40 motivated colleagues will work together as a team to ensure great success.

As a Guide/Ground Coordinator, you are responsible for coordinating and guiding passengers during their shore excursions in Longyearbyen. You will play a key role in shaping how we develop and deliver our services, ensuring the best possible experience for our customers. Pole Position Logistics offers a wide range of shore excursion activities, and as a guide, you know all the ins and outs of the area and the activities to provide an unforgettable experience. Together with the Port Agent and the client, you ensure a tight schedule and maintain direct contact to keep everybody informed about progress.

As a Guide/Ground Coordinator, you do everything in your power to make the passengers smile and create sparkles in their eyes. Nothing is too much to arrange, and you have the Yes-We-Fix mentality.

When issues arise, you know how to act immediately and contact the right people to achieve a great result. In addition, you support the distribution team with handling and drivers’ task on the operational side.

Characteristics

  • Fluent in the English language, both written and verbal, it is preferred if you can speak second language (German, French or Chinese)

  • You have excellent communication skills and are confident talking in front of lager groups

  • Category B Driver’s license is required.

  • The Svalbard Guide Training Course (SGO) is required, or you are eager to take this training

  • You have a valid firearms license and the necessary knowledge to handle a firearm safely.

  • Service mindset is part of your Yes-We-Fix DNA and you strive to provide the best possible service to our clients

  • You are ready to work in a fast-paced environment where a lot of flexibility is required

  • You have knowledge of Longyearbyen and surrounding and know the ins and outs of wildlife and activities in Longyearbyen

  • Previous guiding experience is a plus

  • You work well with various disciplines.

  • Taking responsibility for passenger groups from all over the world is required

  • Planning and maintaining an overview of various activities is at your fingertips

  • You can adapt fast to changing operations and want to participate in creating unforgettable shore-side activities for the passengers

  • In addition to guiding, you can be deployed as a driver/handler, and you see the variety of the job as a challenge

Please note that the start and end date can be flexible after consultation. In the period from May - August holidays will not be possible.
