[SEASONAL 2026] Port Agent
Pole Position Logistics is looking for a Port Agent for season 2026.
We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic colleague who can assist Pole Positions Logistics with service for the expedition cruise vessels, yachts, research and cargo vessels that are sailing in Svalbard waters.
Pole Position Logistics was founded in 2005 and is located in Longyearbyen. Over 20 years we have been assisting our partners and clients with logistical challenges in the Arctic. The company has grown into a logistic service provider in the broad spectrum of shipping, freight forwarding and local distributions. Pole Position coordinates the largest part of all ship calls in the ports of Longyearbyen, Ny-Ålesund and Jan Mayen.
Pole Position Logistics is a close-knit team where we believe that a smiling face and helping each other out are key to success. The Port Operations team consists of seven other Port Agents in a team that consists of over 40 motivated colleagues in the season. You'll work closely with our freight forwarding, distribution, and accounting departments to resolve any issues that arise.
As a Port Agent you are responsible for organising everything from A to Z for our clients. This can be booking accommodation and transfer for crew, provisions, luggage handling, shooting range, pilot and berth booking, handling of parcels, freight and cargo, waste, gasoline, stevedores etc.
Pole Positions Logistics is a full Port Agent, we handle all operations, but we are also the point of contact for shore-ex activities for passengers. As a Port Agent we do everything that a vessel needs to make a port call smooth and efficient. Nothing is too much to arrange and as a Port Agent you have the Yes-We-Fix mentality. You will be managing your own customer accounts with everything from sales and planning to execution and invoicing in a dynamic environment.
Most expedition cruise vessels return to the port Longyearbyen every week and as a Port Agent you are the permanent point of contact for your expedition cruise vessels throughout the summer. You will have a close relationship with the client, and you'll know them inside out to provide the best advice and organisation. You are going to play a crucial role to provide flawless port operations and satisfy clients. You will also be responsible for arranging beautiful shore-ex experiences and happy passengers.
Characteristics
Fluent in the (Business) English language, both written and verbal.
It is preferred if you can speak the Norwegian language or another Scandinavian language, and/or a second language (German or French).
Category B Driver’s license is required.
Sufficient abilities to learn various computer systems.
You are ready to work in a fast-paced environment where a lot of flexibility is required.
Service mindset is part of your Yes we Fix DNA and you strive to provide the best possible service to our clients.
You have knowledge of Longyearbyen and surroundings.
You have excellent communication skills.
Previous experience in the cruise industry, particularly the Expedition segment, is a plus. An interest in this unique cruise industry is a must.
You work well with various disciplines.
Planning, organizing, and maintaining an overview of various activities is at your fingertips.
You can adapt fast to changing operations and want to participate in creating unforgettable shore-sided activities for the passengers.

We have several positions open with varying start and end dates between March 1st and October 1st. The position is initially a seasonal position, but there is the possibility of a permanent position.
